Dear Reader,
On Wednesday I wrapped up the first set of the “Clapping Back to Misogyny” series with a piece on Simone de Beauvoir (which you may find here). I plan to continue this as an occasional series, since I have barely scratched the surface of the subject. In fact, I have had to revise and cut down all of the pieces in the series to get them to a reasonable length, but what better place than “Bird-Bolts” to let the writing overflow a bit from the main essay? A dollop of lagniappe. With that in mind, here are some further reflections on why I admire Simone de Beauvoir, along with a recommendation for further reading.
