In my youth, I purchased a disc set of the complete symphonies of VW conducted by Vernon Handley. I still listen to my favorite tracks in digital file, including the 2nd Movement: Scherzo Alla Marcia of the Symphony No.8 with the Royal Philharmonic. The unusual instrumentation is the perfect vehicle for the music's sarcastic wit.
